Longboarding Honolua Bay

January 14th 2019 / Goff Tours / Honolua Bay, Maui

Longboarding Honolua Bay 2019 turned out to be epic. First of all, this was a borrowed longboard that I got off a friend that I know who lives on Maui. I ran into him staying at the resort. Self explained that I surfed the Bay yesterday but the waves seemed to small for me. Most of all, I said I wish I had brought my longboard. He said, no worries I could use one of his. My adrenaline was pumping for a different day. The next day I was amping to surf the Bay, when I got there the swell had gotten bigger. Since I was already there, I figured I would just surf it anyway. Goff told his friend that if I break his longboard I would replace it. I decided to take it easy when I paddled out. The advantage with catching some of the bigger waves because I had a lot of foam underneath me. Consequently the board seemed harder to turn cause of the fin set up. Hence, outside the line up I could see a feeding frenzy of what looked like a shark outside the lineup. I dint let that bother me. What bothered me more was an white older guy who talked the entire timer I surfed. He took most of the waves and hopped most the guys out there. He showed no respect for other surfers. In Hawaii this is not considered Aloha.
